Aetna Insurance – How Does It Help?

Aetna offers a variety of coverage, and here we will cover the most asked-about programs.

Medicare

This is one of the most popular insurance programs in the country and will assist many millions of Americans who fall between the ages of 65 and 74. Hearing loss is much more common at this age and is typically when people seek help for a problem that may have arisen many years prior.

At face value, Medicare does not offer hearing aids, but there are companies that provide a supplement. These third-party partners will work with Medicare to get you the help you need.

Medicare Advantage

These programs are known for having a little bit of flexibility. You are free to choose your provider, but it must be from the list of providers within their network.

The two options here (HMO or HMO-POS) will include a primary physician who will personally manage your care. They also offer some degree of assistance regarding hearing aids, but it is determined on a case-by-case system.

Medicare Advantage

For even more choice among who you choose to work with, the Medicare Advantage program allows you to select your primary care provider even if they are outside the approved network. These do not need referrals either.

This also offers a wide variety of hearing care coverage, but the specifics will have to be discussed with us or a representative of Aetna. Coverage is based on many factors such as age, severity of hearing loss, other health conditions, etc.

Medicare Advantage Dual Special Needs

This unique plan lets you combine all your insurance services for treatment and medication. Many who enroll need help with their specific medications but also need proper care; this program does both.

Eligibility for this one requires proof of low-income status, but it will include a certain level of hearing care coverage.

Non-Medicare Plans

Since the majority of Medicare users experience some level of hearing loss, it's common for those programs to offer assistance. Many of the non-Medicare plans do not offer hearing coverage simply because of age and the statistics associated with them.

However, this does not rule out that many non-Medicare plans offer partial coverage, discounts, or benefits to help you with the costs of proper hearing care.
